This past quarter at Allume UK has been full of progress and exciting developments.
Our ever-growing network of installers has driven a remarkable increase in both ongoing shared solar projects and future opportunities in the new build and retrofit sectors. Thanks to our installer network, we successfully completed several solar installation projects across the UK, expanding access to clean, affordable energy.
And recently, our team attended Solar & Storage Live in Birmingham, where it was a pleasure to connect with so many of you!
Training success: Improved efficiency & first-time commission rates
Following the launch of our new training program and refresher course, installation times have reduced, and first-time commissioning success rates have reached nearly 100% over the past three months.

Installation spotlight
One of our standout projects in the last quarter is the renovation of the historic Pearl Assurance House in Pontypool, Wales. The building is being transformed into an eco hub that will provide short-term accommodation for those in need.
With a solar PV array on the rooftop, our SolShare technology ensures that clean energy is distributed to the flats. Excess energy is even diverted to a hot water tank, ensuring nothing goes to waste.
In collaboration with Housing Association Melin Homes and our installer partner 1 Vision Solar, this project is lowering energy bills, boosting each flat’s EPC rating, and significantly reducing carbon emissions for a social housing development.
We recently completed a SHDF-funded project at The Hermitage in Lewisham, London, in collaboration with Lewisham Council, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, United Living Group, and our certified installer, CARBON3.
As part of this initiative, all 28 flats were connected to newly installed rooftop solar panels. We tailored the solar energy distribution to meet the specific needs of each flat, improving the entire building’s energy performance to an EPC rating of C.
Residents began experiencing reduced energy bills at the end of September.
We also completed a landmark project in Barry, Wales, partnering with Channel Electrical Systems to connect 35 flats to solar PV and battery storage.
The batteries are located externally, with no cabling installed inside the flats—yet each residence benefits fully from the rooftop solar and battery storage. By allocating custom amounts of solar energy to each flat and integrating a battery system compliant with new PAS fireproof regulations, we’ve set a new standard for community solar and battery solutions.

Solar & Storage Live 2024: A big thank you!
Thank you to everyone who visited us at the Midsummer stand during Solar & Storage Live 2024! It was wonderful to catch up with familiar faces and meet new installers. The discussions around how Allume's SolShare can open up new opportunities for installers were exciting.
We’ve grown so much over the past few years, and we’re excited about what’s next for Allume UK and our expanding installer network.
In our latest blog, we explore how build-to-tent developers can comply with new solar regulations for apartments, improve SAP scores, boost tenant satisfaction, and maximise ROI with shared solar PV systems.
